- Description: This course explores and investigates indoor and outdoor luminaire types and applications. Many of the most common lighting challenges stem from uncertainty of which luminaire is the best choice for an application. Specific applications, common environments, and best practice information is discussed to better prepare lighting specifiers for making the proper choices for LED luminaires.
Course: LIGHTING CONTROLS FOR ENERGY CODES – 1 LU-HSW CREDIT
- Description: This course will provide an overview of the most current codes and standards, primarily ASHRAE and Title 24 and how to comply with lighting controls. Attendees will learn who writes the codes that apply to interior lighting, and understand code requirements that are needed for basic installations. This course will help you to determine the need for automatic shutoff, local control, or multi- level lighting. It will also help you evaluate the need between time-based controls and distributed control options.
Course: LIGHTING THE SPATIAL ENVELOPE – 1 LU CREDIT
- Description: This course introduces the fundamentals of cove and perimeter lighting and how these techniques make commercial spaces feel brighter, clearer, and more visually comfortable. This course highlights simple design principles – like vertical illumination, wall washing, grazing and glare control – that help define space, improve user experience, and enhance architectural features. Participants will also learn basic guidelines for choosing optics, planning geometry, and integrating controls to create clean, consistent, and energy-efficient lighting desings.
Course: LIGHTING THE SILENT GIANT: DATA CENTER LIGHTING – 1 LU-HSW
- Description: Data centers operate continuously and quietly behind the scenes, yet they depend on effective lighting to support safety, maintenance accuracy, and operational reliability. This course introduces lighting professionals to the unique requirements of data center environments, including best practices for illuminance, product selection, controls, and human factors. Attendees will gain practical insight into how good lighting design supports uptime, energy efficiency, and sage operations in mission-critical facilities.
Presented in your office or remote by a Current Lighting or Florida Lighting Associates representative.
Course: ACOUSTICS AND NOISE MANAGEMENT – 1 HSW CREDIT
- Description: This course is intended to educate architects, designers, and specifiers about acoustic lighting, a groundbreaking technology that decreases noise while also illuminating a space. Acoustic technology can maximize human wellness by increasing focus, which increases productivity, and provides a comfortable environment for those with sensory issues. In this way, acoustic lighting is one step toward creating a comfortable environment with a human-focused application.
Course: MAKING INFORMED DESIGN CHOICES – 1 HSW CREDIT
- Description: Dive deep into the intricacies of architectural lighting as we unravel the complexities of modern manufacturing techniques and cutting-edge technologies utilized by lighting manufacturers. This course meticulously examines the impact of diverse components and materials on luminaire performance, longevity, and aesthetic outcomes. Explore strategies to discern and validate manufacturers’ claims by employing precise questioning techniques and demanding thorough documentation. Equip yourself with the technical prowess to master the art of lighting specification, ensuring precision and excellence in every project
Course: ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING WITHOUT LIMITS – 1 HSW CREDIT
- Description: This course illustrates the latest development in dynamic lighting and how different variations of dynamic lighting can be utilized when planning and designing any space. Dynamic lighting can be utilized to enhance spaces, most importantly influencing human health through mood, energy, productivity, and relaxation. The main three types of dynamic lighting covered in this course are Tunable White, Smart Hue RGB+White, and Dims to Warm, which can be powerfully utilized for creating positive experiences in hospitals, grocery stores, hospitality businesses, and more.
